L’X signed a cooperation agreement with SPbPU, Saint-Petersburg
Frank Pacard, Provost of École Polytechnique, and Andrey Rudskoy, Rector of Peter the Great Saint-Petersburg Polytechnic University (SPbPU) signed a cooperation agreement on education and research on February 13th, 2018.
A delegation from SPbPU, led by its Rector Andrey Rudskoy, visited l’X on February 13th. This visit aimed at signing a cooperation agreement between l’X and SPbPU, encouraging double degree programs, joint PhDs and research projects.
A strong collaboration already exists between the Laboratory of Solid Mechanics (LMS) of l’X and the Institute of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics of SPbPU together with the Institute of Problems of Mechanical Engineering (IPME) of the Russian Academy of Sciences: 2 PhD students from SPbPU work at the LMS, professors of both universities participate in visiting programs and joint articles are in preparation.
This visit was also the opportunity to discuss other possibilities of research collaborations with the Laboratory of Physics of Interfaces and Thin Films represented by its Director, Pere Roca I Cabarrocas. The delegation also visited the Additive Manufacturing Center with Patrick Le Tallec, Director of the LMS.
Regarding education, l’X welcomes each year several students from SPbPU in its Exchange and Internship Programs, in Master Programs and in its Ingénieur Polytechnicien Program. More generally, around 20 Russian students are currently on campus.
