Visit of Tatsuya Tanaka, President of Fujitsu Limited, at l’X
On January 25th, 2018, Tatsuya Tanaka, President and Representative Director of Fujitsu Limited, came to l’X to visit the Center of Excellence for Artificial Intelligence his firm established at the Drahi X – Novation Center.
École Polytechnique welcomed Tatsuya Tanaka, President and Representative Director of Fujitsu Limited, on January 25th. President Tanaka, accompanied by Benjamin Revcolevschi (X1994), Managing Director of Fujitsu France, met with Provost of École Polytechnique Frank Pacard. They exchanged views on the relationship between Fujitsu and l’X.
Every year, several Ingénieur Polytechnicien students have the opportunity to complete an internship at Fujitsu in Japan. Also, in 2017, Fujitsu decided to establish its Center of Excellence (CoE) dedicated to Artificial Intelligence at the Drahi X – Novation Center, École Polytechnique’s center for entrepreneurship and innovation. President Tanaka visited the Center and met with the research team which made a demo of their current project.
President Tanaka mentioned that it was a “great chance” for Fujitsu to collaborate with l’X, emphasizing on the high-quality education provided to the students as well as the dynamic and challenging environment in which the Fujitsu team works. Indeed, the Fujitsu can work with the students on campus, the startups hosted at the Center and the 22 laboratories of École Polytechnique.
During an interview, President Tanaka shared his thoughts on the CoE, the changes in society and business due to digital transformation and the opening of a new Graduate Degree program dedicated to Artificial Intelligence at l’X.
