Since January 2016, the construction of the future building of the Paris-Region Photovoltaic Institute has begun. This Institute, whose ambition is to position France as a key player in solar energy worldwide, is the result of a strategic collaboration between École Polytechnique, CNRS, and business partners from the Saclay plateau.
On January 13th, 2016, École Polytechnique and ISAE-SUPAERO (Institut Supérieur de l’Aéronautique et de l’Espace) signed a strategic partnership agreement allowing the two institutions to strengthen existing collaborations and develop new collaborations in research, academic affairs and entrepreneurship.
For the first time, the Times Higher Education (THE) publishes its new ranking of the "world's best small universities", for institutions with less than 5.000 students. École polytechnique is ranked 3rd worldwide, immediately after Caltech and École normale Supérieure.
