Art Exhibition: Works by the Visual Arts Teachers
The Visual Arts teachers of École polytechnique will exhibit a collection of their work in the salon de marbre and the salon d'honneur from May 12-15, 10am-6pm daily.
The first drawing classes at École polytechnique were taught by the painter Neveu upon the school's creation in 1794. This tradition in fine arts has persisted, and has since expanded to classes in painting, engraving, sculpture, and most recently, computer graphics.
The interest, curiosity and enthusiasm of Polytechnicians for these artistic approaches have over time become permanently ingrained.
This exhibition features the artistic works of the Visual Arts teachers so that they may be discovered by the school's students and staff, rendering them as accessible as scientific and literary publications by the faculty.
The presented works demonstrate each teacher's personal convictions and choices, the variations in their personalities and backgrounds, the complementarity of their orientations and styles. They convey the richness and diversity of feelings and expressions.
