Living on campus at Ecole Polytechnique, helped me develop my people skills, because I’m living with people coming for 25 different countries, each one with his unique way of thinking. At first, I was overwhelmed with all the activities in the context of clubs, activities going from robotics… to cooking, but now I know how to manage studying with other activities. Most important for me, I was amazed by the multidisciplinarity of the formation and by the attention that I get from the teachers (usually being the best in their fields) when I’m having difficulties with my courses. And last but not least, every year I get the chance to visit a different country with the basket ball team.

The most striking in our syllabus at the Ecole Polytechnique is the extreme diversity of the fields we can get involved in : it goes from biology to economics , from maths to chemistry ... this variety enables students with very different backgrounds (for instance foreign students) to choose and complete their own way with success.

This year at the Ecole Polytechnique was particularly rich for me. With the Christian Community, I have fully been able to live my faith with prayers, students meetings (inter-religious meetings for example). I have also been able to go to deeply spiritual trips (Moroccan desert, Liban) and to cultural visits (Roma). This summer, we will join the World Youth Days in Toronto and next year, we will have a pilgrimage in Turkey.

Life at the Ecole Polytechnique relies on the equilibrium between the diversity of the opportunities offered on campus and the closeness of the capital city which allows us to enjoy the parisian cultural activities. Whatever the field may be, I am sure to find a student both competent and passionate. Conversing with my peers is often a great pleasure.

What I mostly like in Polytechnique, is the fact that one can meet people coming from all over the world : it is a great lifetime experience for the students who want to work in their native country, and a wonderful beginning for the ones aiming to have an international career. The school stresses also on the importance of its students undergoing periods of training in foreign countries ; it provides intensive courses of foreign languages for the beginners so they can manage after only one year !

I'm feeling very comfortable here. The courses are really attracting me, I'm taking them with a great passion. The Ecole Polytechnique offers such a variety of subject that every student can choose and study in their favorite domains. At the same time, an excellent sport program helps me find a good balance and brings alot of fun. Besides, living in a the campus with a large community formed by people from all over the world is also an another interesting experience to me.

I am spending some of my best years at the Ecole Polytechnique. They are a very enriching experience. I have been in contact with many different cultures. I learnt many new things like piano with Musicalix, horse-riding, lam son vo dao: a Vietnamese martial art. At the EP, we have a rich associative life and what I am appreciating the most is that the academy gives the initiative to the students to organize themselves important activities, so I could take part in the organization of a great event like the "Garden Party".

Attending the EP stands out as a huge opportunity when considering a professional carrier, as an intellectual delight. It is an outstanding school, highly appreciated, and probably the best known from France's Grands Ecoles (we are the ones to parade the Champs Elysees on the 14th of july). But besides merely going to school, living in the campus has been one of the most wonderful and enriching experiences I ever had. It is here that I truly realized how small the world is, I have known and discovered lots of interesting people from all over the world. Furthermore, the school is currently undertaking a relevant process of internationalization, we are being encouraged to take training stages all around the globe, not to mention the stress on foreign languages as part of the school's curriculum.

"The Ecole Polytechnique is a kind of melting pot which is both a seat of learning, with a high level education in any subject, and a place where everyone will fulfil oneself with incredible sport and associative facilities. Situated at half an hour from Paris, it will also enable you to benefit from all Parisian attractions."

One interesting thing about the way the associations in EP work, is that you can easily get an important project to work quickly as soon as you have a good idea. For example, I didn't have to search for long to find an association willing to share its place with mine the day we planned an event .

Today, the Ecole Polytechnique is increasingly wide open to the World. We do have the opportunity to spend our fourth year in a prestigious institution abroad, such as Stanford or Tokyo University. On the reverse, on the campus, you can meet more and more foreign students from all over the world, from Russia, to the United States, from China to Sweden... Moreover, according to our passions, we have founded associations like mine, X-Japon, whose aim is to foster the opening towards Japan.

There are so many interesting possible occupations here that it is necessary to make a choice between them. That is a first step in learning how to determine priorities. Therefore, one of the tasks of the organizers of activities is to attract people and motivate them (for instance during the Campagne Kes). For this they resort to the help of a very special weapon : the cocktail ! And this is only one example of the activities that make your time at the EP very pleasant and profiteable.

What I like the most about the Ecole Polytechnique is the multidisciplinarity of the formation. Hence, moreover the usual scientific courses, I'll be able to follow general human sciences courses not necessarily applied to engineering, language courses and do sport. Also, with the numerous travels organized by students, I'll go this year to Ireland with my rugby team and I'll live two months in Japan in a family to learn japanese.

Coming to the Ecole Polytechnique meant for me not only the opportunity of studying in a famous scientific school with highly selective admission standards, but also the possibility of doing new, attractive things outside the traditional, rigid school-life style. Working and writing for the School's culture magazine X-Passion, I rediscovered my old passion for humanities. In the same time, I got an introductory experience into Automation Sciences with the Robotics Club (Binet Robot) where we had much fun together during the participation to the national students' Robotics competition.

The competitive examination is very difficult, especially when you do not speak French very well. But many people helped me to get through it. I also went to a language training in Villeneuve-sur-Lot : I visited French castles and cities that were around at the same time, in order to discover the French culture.

I came to know of the very special profile of X amongst the top enginering schools of the world.I decided to take up the challenge of the concours. Not knowing French made me hesitate but that was no problem at all at that time. Learning the language thereafter was an experience I shall cherish. The campus is superb and the routine here is just the right blend of studies, sports and other outdoor activities.i learn horse riding as sport and have made lots of friends in my section. Me, like others coming from diffrent countries find it exiting and enriching. It was worth accepting this challenge and temptation to come to one of the best campuses of the world to be in.

The Scientific Project is conducted by groups of 6 students. It certainly is a great occasion to work on a very motivating subject, and all together. It also enhances communication between students, teachers and "advisers". On a global side, the organization of the students' life with sports sections and student highlights helps the integration of all students, and especially foreign students.

I came to the Ecole Polytechnique because it is the school where Cauchy and Poincaré attended. I was really surprised to find such a global training. There are sports, you can also play music : it is great, although I thought that swimming courses three times a week were a bit too much at the beginning.
