Biographie: 

Thierry Rayna est Professeur de Management de l’Innovation à l'École Polytechnique, au sein du Département de Management de l’Innovation de l'X, et chercheur au i3-CRG, (Centre de Recherche en Gestion, Insitut Interdisciplinaire de l’Innovation, UMR CNRS 9217).

 

Titulaire d'un Doctorat en Sciences économiques et Habilité à Diriger des Recherches (HDR), Thierry Rayna a passé une grande partie de sa carrière au Royaume-Uni, où il a été en poste, notamment,  à l’Université de Cambridge, Imperial College London, London School of Economics, University College London et au CIBS (Centre for International Business & Sustainability). Il est actuellement Professeur Affilié à Imperial College London (LeSC, Faculty of Engineering) et « Visiting Professor » à Birkbeck, University of London (Department of Management). 

 

Thierry Rayna a été expert auprès d’institutions nationales (INPI, BPIfrance, Ministère de la Culture et de la Communication), internationales (Commission Européenne, Parlement Européen, Office des brevets Européen, UK Intellectual Property Office, Research Councils UK, U.S. Federal Trade Commission), et non gouvernementales (Danish Crowdsourcing Association, Research Information Network). Il collabore régulièrement avec de grands groupes de diverses industries (automobile, électronique grand public, fabrication numérique/impression 3D, Internet, industries créatives et culturelles, pétrochimie, télécommunication) et est également mentor de start-ups. 

 

Thierry Rayna est Rédacteur en Chef Adjoint de l’International Journal of Manufacturing Technology et Management (HCERES B, CNRS/FNEGE catégorie 3). 

Enseignement: 

Thierry Rayna enseigne au sein des programmes Polytechnicien et Graduate, du Master PIC, du Master Spécialisé Innovation et Entrepreneuriat, ainsi qu'au sein des programmes d'Executive Education de l'École Polytechnique.

 

Il est notamment en charge des cours suivants :

  • MIE554 : Business Models (programme Graduate et Master Spécialisé Innovation et Entrepreneuriat)

Recherche: 

Thierry Rayna s’intéresse à l’impact des technologies numériques (contenus numérisés, Web 2.0, impression 3D, IoT, blockchain, etc.) sur les comportements des individus (cocréation, innovation utilisateur, « prosumption », entrepreneuriat occasionnel) et des groupes (communautés de création/innovation, économie collaborative, crowdsourcing, crowdfunding, Open (social) Innovation), sur les stratégies des entreprises (business models, stratégies de plateforme et d’écosystèmes, management de l’innovation, propriété intellectuelle) et les politiques publiques liées à l'innovation et à la propriété intellectuelle. La recherche de Thierry Rayna porte également sur les « facilitateurs » (tels les Fab Labs, makerspaces, plateformes en ligne)  qui permettent de donner accès au plus grand nombre à ces technologies numériques émergentes.
