About participants eligibility: in this programme, should be given priority:

  • Students from « Cycle ingénieur polytechnicien », 3rd year for the research internship (corresponding to the 1st year of a Master Degree) and 4th year (corresponding to the 2nd year of a Master Degree).
  • Students from the Bachelor of Science Programme, in 3rd year for the exchange semester (corresponding to the 3rd year of a Bachelor Degree).
  • Students of the MScT programme for the research internship in 1st and 2nd years.

No matter the participants’ nationality.

École Polytechnique is committed to facilitating, supporting and recognising the experience abroad for the graduation in France. This recognition is the validation of the ECTS obtained by the student in the host institution during the mobility period (20 ECTS for an internship of 2 to 6 months and 60 ECTS maximum for an academic year). The host institution is committed to do with the mobilities participants as it does with its own students and employees.

For the student mobilities for studies, no registration nor tuition fees would be paid by the student during his/her mobility period.

In return, the student will have to :

  • Respect the rules established in the Erasmus+ Grant Agreement signed by the participant before his/her departure with the beneficiary institution (among other things, respecting the dates of the mobility, sending the documents required within the time limits, alerting in case he/she changes of study programme or his/her mobility period duration) and with the host institution (including the study or internship programme).
  • Fill in the online report of mobility received from Erasmus+ on the experience he/she lived, as soon as possible; the answers allow École Polytechnique and the host institution to evaluate the mobility conditions.

Mobility supports:

Within the limits of the credits  allocated to École Polytechnique by the Erasmus+ National French Agency, selected participants:

  • Outgoing, will benefit from a mobility grant of 700EUR/month for a duration from 3 to 12 months for a mobility for studies and 2 to 12 months for a mobility for internship. They will also be granted a travel support based on the distance in kilometers (see the chart below).
  • Incoming, will benefit from a mobility grant of 850EUR/month for a duration from 3 to 12 months for a mobility for studies and 2 to 12 months for a mobility for internship. They will also be granted a travel support based on the distance in kilometers (see the chart below).

Warning : participants have to respect the total mobility duration of 12 months per course of study, no matter the number and type of mobility activities. Participation without EU grant also has to be taken into account in this total duration.

The mobility grant is paid in two parts : around 70-90% of the total amount before the departure or within a month of the date of arriving in the host country and the balance after returning from the mobility, after having complied with all the requirements.

Timeline for the applications and contacts:

SOIE service : to approve the 3rd year research internship
Official Exchange Committee : to approve the choice of syllabus abroad for Bachelor students

Financial support applications have to be sent by email to the Direction for International Relations (DRI) :
