Design, Modelling and architecture of complex industrial systems (COMASIC)
Diploma : Master in «Computer Sciences»- University Paris- Saclay
COMASIC aims at providing a training of excellence in the design, modelisation and architecture of complex computer systems. Three categories of such computer systems are dealt with in this programme :
· Embedded systems, such as primary flight computers in aeronautics, X-by-wire, Anti-Blocking Systems in the automotive industry, control of a nuclear plant in the energy industry etc.
· Cyber-physical systems, such as smart-grids, robot swarms etc. which are mostly composed of embedded systems, interconnected over a network, controlling and sensing heterogeneous physical apparatus.
· Information systems, such as Enterprise Systems, Billing systems etc. but also information systems needed to manage and optimize big cyber-physical systems and their data (e.g. smart cities etc.)
The good balance between theory and practice is one of the founding principles of this programme. This means that the programme is centered around courses with hands-on sessions, using computer tools coming from research labs, in particular from Paris-Saclay research labs, but also from state of the art industrial tools.Projects, seminars and reading groups, and continuous interactions with academia and industry will help in achieving these goals.
The programme is intended to help students build the scientific and technical skills, and will help develop creative and autonomous thinking, a fundamental quality for students wishing to pursue either in academia or in industry
