Applicants will be able to submit their application online until December 16th through a dedicated portal which will open on November 25th. Students will apply by submitting a dossier, in accordance with international standards. This dossier will include academic transcripts and documents to assess the level of the applicants, in particular in mathematics and sciences, 2 references, a personal statement and a resume.
To be accepted, the dossier will have to be complete and the students have to provide the contact information of the 2 references who can recommend them. The applications will be reviewed by a board composed of École Polytechnique faculty members and deans as well as guest members such as international relations experts and alumni. Shortlisted candidates will then take a two-part interview in January in order to assess their knowledge in mathematics, their motivation as well as their English level.
The Bachelor administrative team aims at recruiting 80 students at most for the first class starting in September 2017 on École Polytechnique campus.
The number of students for this three-year program, entirely taught in English, will then be increased to reach a number of 160 students per year, with at least 60% of international students.
École Polytechnique’s DNA shows through this new program that offers a multidisciplinary approach while also including courses in sports, humanities and social sciences, languages and foreign cultures, as well as innovation management and entrepreneurship. During their 2nd and 3rd years, students will get to choose between three double majors:
- Mathematics & Computer science
- Mathematics & Physics
- Mathematics & Economics
The Bachelor program is also research-oriented: students will spend time in École Polytechnique cutting edge research center and will have to complete a 2-month internship in a lab during their third year.
The primary purpose of the Bachelor is to deliver a diploma opening the doors of top-level graduate programs worldwide. Students will receive support and coaching to access the best Master’s programs in France, at Université Paris-Saclay for example, and in prestigious institutions abroad.
Two more application sessions will take place from January 20th to February 17th, 2017 and from March 31st to April 28th, 2017. These new sessions will enable to fill the remaining places after the 1st application wave.
