New research partnership agreement with HZDR, Germany
École Polytechnique, ENSTA ParisTech and the CNRS have signed a new research partnership agreement with the Research Institute Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf, in Germany.
Researchers of the Applied Optics Laboratory (CNRS/ ENSTA ParisTech/École Polytechnique) and of the Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf Institute (HZDR) demonstrated pioneering approaches to generate particle and radiation beams of innovative properties that are based on the interaction between plasma and laser. The performances of these sources open up new prospects in advanced radiobiology, but also for the cancer therapy or the early diagnosis of tumors with high spatial resolution. This new partnership will foster the scientific cooperation in the field of the laser-plasma acceleration and the applications medically relevant.
About the applied optics Laboratory
The applied optics Laboratory is a common research laboratory for ENSTA ParisTech, the CNRS and l’X. Its research activities cover a wide scientific spectrum focused on the development and the applications of ultra-short laser sources, the physical matter of the interaction laser-material and the plasmas, as well as the production of compact sources of radiation and energetic particle.
