A delegation from Harbin Institute of Technology at l’X

Vice President of Harbin Institute of Technology Xu Dianguo met with Vice President for Marketing and International Relations Rachel Maguer and visited the Laboratory of Physics of Interfaces and Thin Films.

A delegation from Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), led by its Vice President Xu Dianguo, visited l’X on Friday, December 1st, 2017. They met with Vice President for Marketing and International Relations Rachel Maguer and her Deputy Gaëlle Le Goff to discuss possibilities of cooperation between HIT and École Polytechnique.

The delegation also visited the Laboratory of Physics of Interfaces and Thin Films (LPICM) with Martin Foldyna, researcher at the CNRS, who made a general presentation of the activities of the laboratory followed by a visit of the buildings. The high point of the visit was the presentation of the LPICM-Total Joint Research Team in which a dozen Total research engineers work with École Polytechnique researchers and students. The delegation also exchanged with international research staff. Indeed, the LPICM gathers 120 researchers from over 30 countries.

L’X currently welcomes several students from HIT in its Graduate School and in PhD programs. One of them accompanied the delegation: Yao Zhiyuan, a Graduate Student from the Internet of Things program. He shared his experience at l’X with the delegation, focusing on the network of companies, startups and alumni provided by École Polytechnique. Thanks to a partnership between Futurapolis, a technology and innovation forum, and École Polytechnique, Yao Zhiyuan participated in a hackathon. With his team, he won the competition.
