Supporting and encouraging entrepreneurs
Incubation and acceleration
> LA FIBRE ENTREPRENEUR – Drahi X-Novation Center, a space dedicated to entrepreneurship and innovation at the heart of École polytechnique
LA FIBRE ENTREPRENEUR is the first center entirely dedicated to entrepreneurship and innovation at École Polytechnique. This new 2,500 m² space provides a unique spot for creation, experimentation and prototyping, education, incubation, and dialogue with investors. With a design based on the most modern accelerators in the world, this center operates in close interaction with partner incubators (Télécom ParisTech, HEC ...) and with Paris-Saclay institutions promoting technology and research towards industrials.
This space promotes the emergence of projects creating innovative businesses with a high potential on the Paris-Saclay Campus. It is a lively, friendly, open space that aims to :
> Host all of the X's promotion and training related to innovation and entrepreneurship in one place. The site includes an incubator, an accelerator, a prototyping area (with a fab lab, an e-lab, and equipped laboratory areas), an area for co-working and an area dedicated to organizing events and conferences.
> Encourage contact between the different groups on campus (students, researchers and laboratory staff, teachers, entrepreneurs, alumni and external businesses), teamwork and the circulation of ideas.
> Bring together the École polytechnique's work in developing innovation and supporting entrepreneurship in a single emblematic site.
> Strong partnerships with a number of incubators :
The ParisTech Entrepreneur Incubator
École Polytechnique maintains a strong partnership with the ParisTech Entrepreneur incubator, which structures and supports innovative digital projects in France. Its teams offer project initiators personalized support over an 18-month period and easier access to financing and bodies supporting innovation.
The incubator has a special relationship with graduates from the ParisTech schools, including those from the École Polytechnique. It supports start-up projects in which Polytechnique students participate, such as WePopp, Kikast and 360learning.
École Polytechnique is a founding member of IncubAlliance, the incubator for the Paris Saclay Campus, which is committed to projects from technology businesses. IncubAlliance supports project initiators either from laboratories or in collaboration with the Polytechnique.
It is a general incubator covering a number of research areas (applied physics and engineering sciences, ICT, and life sciences) and feeds into several industries (transport and automobile, telecommunications, IT, electronics, defense, greentech, medtech, biotech and foodtech etc.).
IncubAlliance helps projects progress more quickly by offering one-on-one support to future directors and directors of technology start-ups over 24 months. The incubator also supports project financing.
> Other structures
X-Technologies nurtures businesses. It has a 550m² building on the Polytechnique campus and approximately 120m² of space distributed between laboratories, housing around ten businesses which therefore benefit from the proximity of the research center. It offers them very good terms and conditions, and supports their development.
XMP-BADGE (Business Angels) and XMP-Entrepreneur are two associations with many experienced members. They also aim to support start-ups, either originating from the École Polytechnique's laboratories and/or run by former students. One helps with financing and the other with advice and support.
École Polytechnique participates in the Pôle Entrepreneuriat Etudiant Paris Saclay (PEEPS).
XMP-Entrepreneur is an association that supports start-ups either originating from the École Polytechnique's laboratories or run by X alumni by offering them advice and support.
