Facebook buys Wit.ai, the start-up founded by an alumni
Alexandre Lebrun (X94), Laurent Landowski and Willy Blandin, have announced on 5 January 2015 that their start-up was joining Facebook. The three entrepreneurs have created Wit.ai, a start-up that offers developers a system to integrate a voice assistant in their application.
"Wit.ai is joining Facebook!", the announcement was made by Alexandre Lebrun on Twitter on January, 5, 2015. A few months after having raised 3 million dollars through the Andreessen Horowitz fund, the start-up Wit.ai is now joining the famous social network.
Wit.ai's speech recognition technology allows all developers to add a voice control system to their application, be it for a mobile app or a connected object.
In a post published on their blog, the members of Wit.ai speak about the "incredible acceleration in the execution of their vision" and add that "the platform will remain open and become entirely free for everyone".
