In 2007, École Polytechnique has signed a double degree agreement with Kyung Hee University (KHU). Since then, 31 students came from Korea and obtained a Master's degree in Technological Innovation/Engineering and Entrepreneurship from École Polytechnique, as well as a Master's degree from KHU. Most of those students have done one of their research internships at the LPICM, and ten of them have decided to stay in the lab to do their PhD.
École Polytechnique also organizes every year a "Summer Camp" in July for undergraduate students from KHU: the goal is to give them an opportunity to discover France as well as l'X and to encourage them to apply for this double degree program. More than 250 students have already participated to this Summer Camp.
In parallel, the LPICM has also developed a collaboration with the Sung Kyun Kwan University (SKKU) on silicon nanowires and carbon nanotubes. In addition to several mutual exchanges of PhD students and post-docs, a Research Director from the lab joined the Nanoscience & Nanotechnology Department at SKKU for the last five years.
