Do you need to write a Data Management Plan (DMP) as part of your funded research project or thesis? Do you want to create a DMP for your scientific platform, research unit, disciplinary or interdisciplinary center? The Central Library of Ecole Polytechnique can help you!

The Data Management Plan (DMP) is a tool that defines how research data will be managed during a research project or within a research structure. It describes the methods and processes for creating, documenting, storing, sharing, preserving, and protecting data.

This synthetic, formal document is used as a framework for thinking about data management and helps anticipate various data-related issues that arise during a research project. It is also a living document that can be updated as the research project progresses. It should be noted that funding agencies require a first version 6 months after the start of the project.

There are several tools available for writing a DMP, including DMP OPIDoR, which offers templates recommended by funding agencies, including an ANR structured template that automatically imports information related to the funded project. You can access the Ecole polytechnique DMP OPIDoR institutional space by logging in with your @‌polytechnique.edu email address.
