Polytechnique wins the 28th Awards "Communication et Entreprise"

On Thursday, November 20, 2014, École Polytechnique and Babel communication agency received the 1st prize in the category "Visual and corporate brand identity".

Communication & Entreprise awarded its Grands Prix on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at the Cirque d’Hiver Bouglione in Paris, in front of more than 1 200 participants. École polytechnique and Babel communication agency were awarded the first prize in the category "Visual and corporate brand identity" for X's new corporate identity unveiled in December 2013.

The jury said: "Everything is in this new logo: history, modernity, simplicity. A very smart approach built on X's traditions while positioning it as a forward-thinking institution."

In 2013, École Polytechnique unveiled its new visual identity in order to strengthen its visibility and readability in a very dense international competitive arena. Following a call for bids to which over forty agencies responded, École Polytechnique selected Babel to guide this image transformation process.

The new visual identity of École Polytechnique, unveiled on December 12, 2013, revolves around two strong iconic symbols which are integral to the heritage and brand of the institution:
- the letter “X” has been another name for École Polytechnique since the mid-19th century, originating from the crossed cannons in its original insignia, as well as a symbol for the school’s scientific education, stemming from the ubiquitous x variable used in scientific and mathematic equations;
- the school’s coat of arms, a historical insignia which bears the motto given by Napoleon “Pour la Patrie, les Sciences et la Gloire” (For the Homeland, for Science, and for Glory), represents the values of the school and its military status.

With the inclusion of Paris-Saclay University in its logo, École Polytechnique positions itself as a proud founding member of one of the leading institutes of higher education and research worldwide.
This new visual identity, adapted for École Polytechnique, the École Polytechnique Foundation (FX), and the École Polytechnique Alumni Association (AX), will even further promote the unity and renown of the Polytechnician community.

Since 1986, Communication & Entreprise organizes the Grands Prix de la communication d’entreprise to promote companies, institutions and communication agencies showing the utmost professionalism, thus contributing to the development of the exchanges between fields.
