A history of the relationship between the arts and sciences, XVIth-XXth century

A history of art through the prism of scientific discoveries, highlighting the dialogue between artists and scientificists and their impact on collective imaginations.
Designed by Thomas Schlesser, the course traces the ceaseless dialogue between the arts and sciences, from the 16th to the 20th century : students will both expand their knowledge and understand the methodology specific to Art History. Although it’s a Master's level course, it is nevertheless accessible to any curious and motivated person, as each course provides appropriate prerequisites and references to understand the context.

5 episodes of 20-30 minutes each, illustrated with original iconographic and bibliographic references.
