BX tops French daily Le Figaro's 1st ranking of “general and industrial engineering” Bachelors
École Polytechnique’s Bachelor’s program (BX) tops the French Figaro newspaper special issue on higher education first ranking of Engineering Schools’ Bachelors. The Cybersecurity Bachelor's program at EPITA, of which École Polytechnique is a partner, ranks second in its category. Le Figaro Etudiant ranked 50 Engineering Schools’ Bachelors referenced on Parcoursup, the French platform for access to higher education.

Inauguration of GenF, in which École Polytechnique is a scientific partner
Created in January 2025 by Thales, world leader in high-power lasers, GenF aims to develop and industrialize a process for creating a new, safe, abundant, inexpensive and non-polluting form of energy using the inertial confinement nuclear fusion process. The inauguration of its premises in Le Barp, south of Bordeaux, was attended by representatives of the various stakeholders involved.

Mus'X enriches its collections with the portrait of an alumnus, dated 1814
The painting by Césarine Davin-Mirvault (1773-1844) was acquired via pre-emption at a sale at the Drouot auction house in Paris, with the support of the Fondation de l'École Polytechnique and Sabix. It depicts a young polytechnician, in École Polytechnique uniform, in front of Fort de Vincennes in 1814, during the Battle of Paris. It was presented for the first time to the School, during a ceremony at Mus'X, the X museum, on May 13, 2025.

Copie de L’X signs a partnership with Bocconi University
École Polytechnique strengthens its ties with Bocconi, the world-renowned Italian university specialized in economics, management, finance, law, political science, data and computer science. A Memorandum of Understanding, signed on November 13th will facilitate specific joint projects such as academic student exchanges and the development of double degree programs at master level, combining the strengths of the two institutions.

New double degree program with the Instituto Tecnológico de Buenos Aires
École Polytechnique has signed a partnership agreement with one of Argentina's leading universities of technology – the Instituto Tecnológico de Buenos Aires (ITBA). The two partner institutions will offer a new double degree program that will enable students from ITBA at Bachelor's level to pursue a Master of Science & Technology program at l’X while continuing to complete their four-year Bachelor's degree at ITBA.

U7+ Presidential Summit Highlights Universities’ Role in Advancing responsible AI
The annual summit of the International Alliance of university presidents U7+ focused this year on "The Role of Universities in Advancing Artificial Intelligence". Invited as a panelist in the opening session, Laura Chaubard, President of École Polytechnique, was among the 37 university leaders who participated in this seventh edition of the U7+ Presidential Summit. The event brought together representatives from 42 universities across 16 countries at the University of Ottawa on April 22–23, 2025. As Canada prepares to host the G7 Summit in June 2025, this year's U7+ Summit concluded with the official delivery of a communiqué, endorsed by U7+ member universities, to the Canadian government. The document underscores higher education institutions' crucial role in shaping responsible AI.

The second quantum revolution in Ecole Polytechnique's laboratories
The year 2025 has been proclaimed International Year of Quantum Science and Technology by the United Nations. In the 20th century, quantum mechanics radically changed the way we think about the physical world. The final of Institut Polytechnique de Paris' Ma Thèse en 180 secondes competition took place on Wednesday April 2 at École Polytechnique. Amélie Kies, doctoral student at the Applied Optics Laboratory (LOA*), Laure Corazza, doctoral student at the Dynamic Meteorology Laboratory (LMD*), Maxime Vigoureux from the Organic Synthesis Laboratory (LSO*) and Louis Berthier, from the Center for Applied Mathematics (CMAP*) were rewarded.

Antoine Guibal, professor at l’X, on American writers of the ‘lost generation’
In the latest episode of the podcast of the Alliance program, of which École Polytechnique is a member, Antoine Guibal speaks about American expatriate writers who settled in Paris at the beginning of the 20th century. Antoine Guibal chairs the Department of Languages and Cultures at the École Polytechnique and spent a semester as a Visiting professor at Columbia University at the beginning of this academic year.
