Our partners in Europe
École Polytechnique has signed agreements with more than forty universities in Europe and has been collaborating with most of them for many years. The Erasmus+ program enables students to benefit from academic exchanges and research internships, but l'X has also set up several double degrees with its partners as well as collaborations in the fields of innovation and research. These partnerships are based on geographical and scientific proximity, reinforced by similar pedagogical approaches. L'X's Visiting Researchers Campaign is also a basis for cooperation that brings student and teacher exchanges to life.

German students represent the first academic exchange community at École Polytechnique. In Germany, l'X collaborates globally with the Technical University of Munich (TUM) by offering, among other things, double degrees with the Ingénieur polytechnicien program and specialized Masters, as well as a module of the Executive Master and exchange opportunities for start-ups.
In England, l'X has signed a research and training cooperation agreement with King's College, formalising existing collaborations and allowing undergraduate students to spend a semester at the partner university as part of the Erasmus exchange. The United Kingdom is also the second destination chosen by the students of the Ingénieur polytechnicien program for their fourth year.
Switzerland is one of the first countries chosen by our students for academic exchanges, both for the double degree of the Ingénieur polytechnicien program and for the Bachelor's degree. Swiss students also form a strong community at l'X, especially in the non-degree exchange program but also in double degrees.
In Switzerland, l'X's main partners are the two federal institutions, EPFL and ETHZ.
With the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), l'X cooperates in the academic field, in research, entrepreneurship and innovation. EPFL is one of l'X's main European partners for the Ingénieur polytechnicien program, with a double degree that enables around fifteen students each year to specialize in one of its many Masters programs.
The academic collaboration with ETHZ, on the other hand, is built around a very specific field: high-energy physics. The PHE joint master's degree, "High-energy physics", is built on the basis of an exchange agreement between École Polytechnique and ETH Zurich and offers training, both theoretical and experimental, in particle physics and cosmology.
École Polytechnique has many partners in Russia, including the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) with which a double degree agreement has been signed.
Strong scientific collaborations take place between international laboratories and MIPT but also with Peter the Great Saint-Petersburg Polytechnic University (SPbSTU) and the Higher School of Economics, Moscow, (HSE), including exchanges of researchers, joint supervision of theses in multiple fields and research internships within the framework of Erasmus+.
As part of the KA107 call for projects, the École polytechnique won an international mobility grant for credit mobility with Russia, which makes it possible to fund student study and research mobility, as well as mobility of teaching staff.
In Scandinavia, the main partners of l'X are the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), a member of the EuroTech Alliance, and the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden.
Collaboration with DTU involves academic exchanges in the framework of the Bachelor's program, as well as research themes such as climate change and energy transition. DTU is also one of the favourite destinations for students in the ngénieur polytechnicien program, particularly on the same themes of energy transition and sustainable development. The collaboration with KTH is focused on a double degree agreement for the ngénieur polytechnicien program, which attracts more than ten students to Sweden each year.
École Polytechnique and Politecnico di Milano share important scientific collaborations, especially in mechanics, as well as academic mobility for students and teachers, especially in the field of architecture.
