The President - Eric Labaye
Eric Labaye is President of École Polytechnique since September 2018 and President of Institut Polytechnique de Paris, created in May 2019 and that encompasses École Polytechnique, ENSTA Paris, ENSAE Paris, Télécom Paris and Télécom SudParis. He serves on the board of Telecom Paris, the International Advisory Boards of ESSEC and Waterloo University, and the Board of Advisors of the School of Public Affairs at Sciences Po.
Before being named President of École Polytechnique, Eric Labaye was Senior Partner at McKinsey & Company and Chairman of the McKinsey Global Institute. Prior to this, he was Managing Director of the France office, then led the firm’s Global Knowledge and Communication. He was also a member of the Shareholders Council of the firm (Global Board) for nine years, of which he chaired the Client Committee in charge of the development’s strategy.
Eric Labaye worked for more than 30 years for clients globally in the telecom, high-tech and industrial sectors, and also for governments and public institutions on a variety of strategic and operational issues, including major transformation programs, strategies of growth and R&D, the development of agile organizations, acquisitions, post-merger management, and digitalization.
He conducted many research projects with MGI and in France on key economic topics, including growth in Europe, productivity, digitalization, future of work and inequality. He took part in the report of the expert college on “How to make France an economy of technological disruption” and chaired the working group “Carnet de Dubai” describing the innovation dynamics of AI in France for the World Expo 2020. He is a regular speaker during national and international conferences, in the public, private, academic or non-governmental spheres.
Éric Labaye also initiated and co-directed McKinsey's "Women Matter" research program, which since 2007 has aimed to promote gender diversity in the management bodies of major companies. He was a member of the “Commission for the Liberation of French growth” (Attali Commission) from 2007 to 2010, a member of the Economic Commission of the Nation from 2005 to 2014 and a member of the Marescaux Commission in charge of proposing a new model for university hospitals and the implementation of university hospital institutes (IHU). Since February 2022, Eric Labaye has been a member of the France 2030 "Digital" ministerial steering committee.
Eric Labaye is a graduate from École Polytechnique and Telecom Paris and holds an MBA with distinction (Henry Ford II award) from INSEAD.
The Director-General – Laura Chaubard
Under the authority of the President of the Board of Directors, the Director-General oversees the administration and military leadership of the School.
Laura Chaubard is Director-General of École Polytechnique since October 2022. Under the authority of the Chairman of the Board of Directors, she is responsible for the general management and the military command of the School. Laura Chaubard is also a member of the Executive Committee of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris, which brings together École Polytechnique, ENSTA Paris, ENSAE Paris, Télécom Paris and Télécom SudParis since May 2019.
Previously, Laura Chaubard, an engineer-general of Armament, was Executive Director of the Établissement Public du Parc et de la Grande halle de la Villette (EPPGHV) since october 2019.
Laura Chaubard is a graduate of the École Polytechnique (X99) and hold a doctorate degree in algo algorithmics delivered by Paris Diderot University (Paris VII).
Laura Chaubard is also a Knight of the National Order of Merit and a Knight of the Legion of Honour.
Provost - Dominique Rossin
This position is appointed by decree of the Minister of Defense, through nomination by the President of the Board of Directors, upon recommendation of the Board.
Dominique Rossin (X1994) holds a PhD in Computer Science from the École Polytechnique and is a specialist in algorithmics and combinatorics. He led a team at the University of Paris Diderot for seven years before joining the Computer Science Laboratory of École Polytechnique in 2010. He was recruited as a lecturer at the School in 2003, in the Computer Science Department, and has been accredited to supervise research since 2007.
Between 2012 and 2014, he joined the Ministry of Higher Education and Research as Deputy Delegate for Research and Technology in charge of the Paris region.
Since 2015, Dominique Rossin has been Vice-Provost for Education and since 2019, he is in charge of the Education Committee for the Institut Polytechnique de Paris. In 2020, he was appointed French Dean of the EuroteQ European University, which he contributed to create.
Dominique Rossin has led several major projects for the School: the creation of the Bachelor's program, the creation of the eight Masters of Science and Technology, the development of continuing education and the creation of the Executive Master's program, as well as leading the project to reform the Ingénieur Polytechnicien Program. Dominique Rossin has also played a key role in the evolution of teaching practices and the development of e-learning and MOOCs.
