École Polytechnique in the world's Top 20 for higher education in digital – THE

École Polytechnique ranks 18th worldwide in the “Digital Leaders in Higher Education” ranking compiled by Emerging for Times Higher Education (THE). It ranks 14th worldwide in the “Computer Science” category, 23rd in the “Management of Digital Transformation” category and 24th in the “Digital Entrepreneurship” category.

École Polytechnique has made education, research and innovation in digital issues one of its key strategic development areas, with a strong contribution to the interdisciplinary Hi! Paris interdisciplinary center, run jointly by HEC Paris and the Institut Polytechnique de Paris, of which X is a founding member, the deployment of new initial and continuing training courses, particularly in the fields of AI and cybersecurity, and the targeting of its efforts to support entrepreneurship and innovation in these fields and in quantum computing. 

École polytechnique ranks 18th worldwide in the “Digital Leaders in Higher Education” ranking compiled by Emerging for Times Higher Education (THE). It ranks 14th worldwide in the “Computer Science” category, 23rd in the “Management of Digital Transformation” category and 24th in the “Digital Entrepreneurship” category.

The “Digital Leaders in Higher Education” ranking is based on two databases.

An online survey was conducted from 02/15 to 02/27/2024 among 3,697 employers in the sector in 12 countries (USA, UK, Germany, Spain, France, China, India, Sweden, Japan, Norway, Israel and South Korea) with a total of 190,432 votes. The professionals surveyed were asked to vote for the 15 best institutions out of 1,000, according to five categories: best institutions for “computer sciences studies”; best institutions for data science, AI and business analytics studies; best institutions for digital transformation management training; best institutions for digital entrepreneurship programs; best institutions for digital learning and innovation skills training.

An analysis of the impact of training programs on digital careers has been carried out, based on almost 150,000 CVs and profiles of professionals in new technologies or digital transformation, acting in positions of high responsibility, technical or managerial, and having reached these positions between zero and 10 years' professional experience. Emerging has “extracted a list of the most sought-after skills on the market and the names of the best institutions for training the most successful profiles in these skill areas.”
