École Polytechnique, backed by its Foundation, offers a range of ambitious programs to support research, innovation, and international mobility. Aimed at students, PhD candidates, faculty, researchers, and staff, these programs are designed to strengthen the institution’s standing and attractivity on the global academic stage.

École Polytechnique offers unique international research opportunities to develop large-scale scientific projects, thanks to various programs supporting international mobility and collaboration, such as the Erasmus+ program, fostering intra-European and international exchanges for over 30 years, or through targeted initiatives like the Gaspard Monge Visiting Professor program, which hosts renowned researchers for research and teaching stays.

Committed to addressing societal challenges, l’X also supports innovative programs such as the SDG PhD fellowships, which provide financial support to doctoral students whose work contributes to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Other schemes, such as the Launching packages, the S.S. Chern Young Faculty Award, and specific grants for early-career researchers and professors, further demonstrate the institution’s commitment to promoting excellence and independence in research.

Attractivity

The Launching Packages provide newly recruited researchers and faculty with the resources they need to successfully launch their research programs at École Polytechnique. Funding is available for the purchase of essential equipment, PhD and postdoctoral fellowships to build up a research team, operating expenses, fieldwork, conference attendance, and internship grants.

The program is supported by the Foundation of École Polytechnique.
