Merit-based Scholarships: Cooperation agreement with the Singapore government
A new agreement between École Polytechnique and Singapore’s Public Service Commission (PSC) reaffirms their shared commitment to nurturing exceptionally talented students. The PSC oversees scholarship planning and administration on behalf of the Singaporean government and manages the merit-based excellence scholarships program awarded by the Singaporean authorities.
Under the new agreement, signed on January 19, 2026, for a five-year term, up to five recipients of the PSC excellence scholarships will be eligible for accelerated application procedures if they wish to apply to the École Polytechnique’s Bachelor of Science or one of its Master of Science and Technology programs. Provided that the candidates - already preselected by PSC for their excellence - meet the academic requirements of l’X, they will be able to proceed directly to the oral interviews.
“We are proud of this new collaboration, which enables l’X to welcome remarkable Singaporean talents under the best possible conditions. The excellence of their academic track will enrich our student community and contribute to enduring connections between our two scientific nations”, comments Laura Chaubard, President of École Polytechnique.
Sustained intercultural dialogue with prestigious Singaporean partners
The new agreement is a further testament to the collaborative dynamic that École Polytechnique has cultivated with various higher education institutions in Singapore over the past several years. In this sense, l’X has already established dual-degree programs with the National University of Singapore (NUS), as well as academic exchange programs with Nanyang Technological University (NTU), for example. Numerous research collaborations with NUS and NTU also connect researchers from the partner institutions.
