The First Job Survey, conducted among 2024 graduates of Master of Science and Technology (MSc&T) programs, highlights the alignment between their first professional experience and their expectations.
The survey was carried out between February and May 2025 among 152 graduates, including 52 French and 100 international students, with a complete response rate of 57%, or 86 respondents.
Nearly three-quarters (71%) were recruited by companies, 87% found their first job within three months of graduation, and 71% found a job before graduation. 96% of them say they are satisfied or very satisfied with their job, which they chose primarily because it fits in with their career plan, but also because of the content of the position offered, their employer's sector of activity, and the prospects for advancement.
Across the entire graduating class, graduates recruited by companies are mainly employed in the energy sector (22%), consulting (14%), banking, insurance, and finance (13%), industry (9%), as well as IT, digital, and telecoms (5%), aircraft, railway and shipbuilding (5%), and 3% in other sectors.
While 93% of them are employed by private companies, 7% work in the public sector. They are spread across large companies with more than 5,000 employees (31%), medium-sized companies with 250 to 5,000 employees (27%), and SMEs or micro-enterprises with fewer than 250 employees (42%).
While two-thirds of MSc&T graduates are international, the vast majority (80%) of graduates recruited start their careers in France. Sixteen percent move to other European countries (including 7% to the United Kingdom) and 4% to Asia.
Their average gross annual salary is €55,000 (excluding bonuses) and €64,000 including bonuses, across all countries.
Approximately 14% of graduates are looking for work six months after graduation, updating the results of the First Job Survey (conducted one to three months after graduation) with their LinkedIn status six months after graduation to ensure a comparable period to previous surveys.
