School Leadership

The Chairman of the Board of Directors sets the direction of the School's missions in education, research, and innovation and ensures their implementation. The Director General oversees the institution's operational management and military leadership.

As Director General of École Polytechnique since September 1, 2026, Bruno Bellier is also serving as interim Chair of the School’s Board of Directors. Bruno Bellier is a member of the Executive Committee of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris, which brings together École Polytechnique, École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées (ENPC), ENSTA, ENSAE Paris, Télécom Paris, and Télécom SudParis.

Bruno Bellier has spent most of his career at the Directorate General of Armaments (DGA), where he has held positions involving scientific and technical expertise as well as responsibilities for strategy and innovation in the defense sector. Since July 2025, he has served as deputy director of the DGA’s Engineering and Expertise Division, with a focus on transformation.

He is a graduate of École Polytechnique (X92), holds a Ph.D. in pharmaceutical sciences from the University of Paris V, and a master’s degree in public law from the University of Paris Panthéon-Sorbonne.

Bruno Bellier is a Knight of the National Order of the Legion of Honor and an Officer of the National Order of Merit.

This position is appointed by decree of the Minister of Defense, through nomination by the President of the Board of Directors, upon recommendation of the Board.

Dominique Rossin (X1994) holds a PhD in Computer Science from the École Polytechnique and is a specialist in algorithmics and combinatorics. He led a team at the University of Paris Diderot for seven years before joining the Computer Science Laboratory of École Polytechnique in 2010. He was recruited as a lecturer at the School in 2003, in the Computer Science Department, and has been accredited to supervise research since 2007.

Between 2012 and 2014, he joined the Ministry of Higher Education and Research as Deputy Delegate for Research and Technology in charge of the Paris region.

Since 2015, Dominique Rossin has been Vice-Provost for Education and since 2019, he is in charge of the Education Committee for the Institut Polytechnique de Paris. In 2020, he was appointed French Dean of the EuroteQ European University, which he contributed to create.

Dominique Rossin has led several major projects for the School: the creation of the Bachelor's program, the creation of the eight Masters of Science and Technology, the development of continuing education and the creation of the Executive Master's program, as well as leading the project to reform the Ingénieur Polytechnicien Program. Dominique Rossin has also played a key role in the evolution of teaching practices and the development of e-learning and MOOCs.
