Since 2019, anchoring in the 21st century

In a higher education and research environment that is now globalized, highly competitive but open to cooperation, École Polytechnique is anchoring itself in the 21st century by joining forces with other leading French engineering schools within Institut Polytechnique de Paris. In keeping with its tradition of excellence and concern for the common good, the School is committed to the fight against climate change and to invest in research and innovation around digitalization, artificial intelligence and data science, the energy transition and bioengineering.

2019

Creation of Institut Polytechnique de Paris, which brings together five top French engineering schools: École Polytechnique, ENSTA Paris, ENSAE Paris, Télécom Paris and Télécom SudParis, with the aim of creating a world-class public higher education and research institution.

École Polytechnique is making five strong climate commitments at the international conference "RefleXions: Research, Training and Action for Sustainable Development" in June 2019, as part of its 225th anniversary.

Creation of the interdisciplinary Energy4Climate (E4C) Center at the Institut Polytechnique de Paris (IP Paris) dedicated to the energy transition.

2020

The Institut Polytechnique de Paris and HEC officially launch Hi! PARIS, an interdisciplinary research center dedicated to Artificial Intelligence and Data.

L'X has become a player in the European project EuroTeQ, a new academic approach aimed at strengthening the links between the training of excellent engineers and the actors of society and industry.

2021

Launch of the new reform of the Cycle ingénieur program.

2022

École Polytechnique publishes its Climate Plan, which presents its contribution to promoting sustainable prosperity.

50 years celebration since the first entry of women at École Polytechnique.
