L’X, first French university of the CWUR - World University Rankings
École Polytechnique took a big step forward in the CWUR ranking, placing itself at the 32nd place at the head of the 95 French institutions of the ranking.
On August 5, 2019, the Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) published its ranking of the 2000 best higher education institutions in the world. École Polytechnique takes the lead among the French institutions and ranks 32nd, a clear increase compared to the 2018 edition where it ranked 116th.
In order to obtain its ranking, CWUR evaluated 20 000 establishments based on seven indicators: Research Output (10%), High-Quality Publications (10%), Influence (10%), Citations (10%), Quality of Faculty (10%), Alumni Employment (25%), and Quality of Education (25%).
In total, France is represented by 95 institutions whose leading trio is formed by École Polytechnique (32nd), the Sorbonne University (35th) and École normale supérieure (43rd).
Harvard, MIT and Stanford rank at the top of the global podium.
