Rachel Maguer, Vice President, Marketing and International Relations, École Polytechnique, and Yves Berthelot, Vice Provost for International Initiatives, Georgia Tech, signed an agreement on November 27, 2018, at Georgia Tech aimed at facilitating student exchanges and research at the undergraduate and graduate levels between the two institutions.

Following the affiliation of École Polytechnique to the Alliance in June 2018, Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, will join the EuroTech Universities Alliance as of January 1, 2019.
On October 17th, École Polytechnique signed a non-degree academic exchange cooperation agreement with Peking University aimed at promoting regular exchanges of students enrolled in several programs offered at both insitutions.

A Symposium titled “Bridging Ideas”, celebrating the 15th Anniversary of the Alliance Program, was held on October 10th, hosted by Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. A community of scholars from Columbia University, Paris 1, Sciences Po and École Polytechnique exchanged on some of the critical challenges the world is currently facing.
On October 10, 2018, a community of scholars will convene in Paris for an event titled, “Bridging Ideas”, in order to exchange on some of the critical challenges the world is currently facing, including overcrowding in cities, water shortages, unemployment, and electricity distribution and transportation issues.
Four École Polytechnique researchers have been invited to the International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM) to present the results of their work. This year, the Congress will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from August 1st till August 9th.
