École Polytechnique's Bachelor's program tops the 2025 ranking of engineering school Bachelors, published for the first time by Le Figaro Etudiant, the French daily's supplement dedicated to higher education, in the “general and industrial engineering” category.

EPITA's Cybersecurity Bachelor's degree, of which École Polytechnique is a partner, came second in its category in this ranking, based on criteria including selectivity for admission, quality of academic staff and openness to entrepreneurship and innovation.

At the start of the 2024-2025 academic year, the Bachelor's program attracted 432 students, including 146 newcomers from a total of 1,337 applications, an increase of 20%. The latest intake includes 63% international students and 51 different nationalities, with 32% female students.

Almost all of the 133 Bachelor's who graduated in 2024 will go on to complete a Master's degree, half of them abroad, and 80% of them at a Top 40 university in France or abroad.

For its first academic year, the Global Engineering program in partnership with Columbia University welcomed 13 students. As long-standing partners in the Alliance transatlantic cooperation program, Ecole polytechnique and Columbia University have created a four-and-a-half-year double degree in science and engineering, featuring courses taught jointly by Ecole polytechnique and Columbia, and new learning formats. Students who complete the program obtain both a Bachelor of Science degree from École Polytechnique and a Master's degree from Columbia University.

The Cybersecurity Bachelor's program at EPITA, in partnership with Ecole Polytechnique, also began its first academic year in September 2024, with 120 students. Thirty of them, selected by the Cyberdefense Command (COMCYBER), will join the Ministry of the Armed Forces on completion of their training. The Ministry will pay their tuition fees, on condition that they join the operational reserve during their studies, obtain their diploma, and sign a 5-year commitment contract as officers. These 30 students will spend their 3rd year on a sandwich course within the forces of the French Ministry of the Armed Forces.
