L’X signs a double degree agreement with Bocconi

École Polytechnique and the prestigious Italian partner university Bocconi launch two Master's double degree programs – one in Finance and the other in Artificial Intelligence. 

Laura Fioni, Director of Degree Programs at École Polytechnique, and Francesco Saita, Dean of International Affairs at Bocconi, officially signed the new agreement on December 2, 2025, in Milan. 

Reaffirming the commitment of École Polytechnique and Bocconi University to strengthen their collaboration, the signature of this agreement marks the completion of the thorough design of the curricula of the two dual-degree programs.  

The two institutions laid the official groundwork for their partnership with a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in 2024. Signed by Bocconi University Rector, Prof. Francesco Billari, and the President of École Polytechnique, Laura Chaubard, in November 2024, the MoU was indeed designed to facilitate specific collaborations, such as the development of dual degree Master’s programs.

The two new dual-degree programs in the strategic fields of Finance and AI reflect the commitment of the two partner institutions to expand and strengthen their international collaboration. 

The first double degree, in Finance, will combine École Polytechnique’s Master of Science & Technology (MSc&T) in Economics, Data Analytics, and Corporate Finance and Bocconi’s MSc in Finance – Finance Track. The first intake will start classes in September 2026. AI is at the center of the second double degree program, and will enable students to complete both, École Polytechnique’s MSc&T Trustworthy and Responsible AI and Bocconi’s Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence – Milan Track. The launch is planned for the academic year 2027/28.
