On May 13, 2026, this University Fair brought together representatives from seventeen international universities, sixteen French higher education institutions, and agents from seven government bodies on the campus of l’X to engage with the students of École Polytechnique and provide them with details regarding their organisations and training offers.

Organized by the International Affairs Office, the Direction of the Ingénieur Polytechnicien program, and the Direction of the Bachelor’s program at École Polytechnique, this annual event helps students explore the many opportunities available for the fourth year of the Ingénieur Polytechnicien program and supports them in making their choices. The event is also intended for third-year students in the institution’s Bachelor of Science program, and provides guidance as they prepare to choose their Master’s studies.

Among the international partner institutions present were prestigious universities such as Carnegie Mellon University, Columbia, University of California Berkeley, University ofe Tokyo, Bocconi, London School of Economics, EPFL, UCL and Cambridge. Several partners from the EuroTeQ network also attended the event, including EPFL, Tallinn University of Technology (Taltech) and Czech Technical University in Prague (CTU).

A wide range of possibilities to choose from

During their third year, students in the Ingénieur Polytechnicien program must choose among various academic pathways for their fourth year of study. They can either specialize at a partner engineering school, join a major technical or military state institution (corps de l’État*), or pursue a Master’s degree in France or abroad. By inviting students to meet and discuss with representatives from these different pathways, the University Fair is especially designed for third-year students, helping them make informed decisions by closely examining each option.

The event is equally intended for students in l’X’s Bachelor program, who are invited to meet with representatives from international universities to learn about the admission requirements for Master’s programs at the participating institutions.

In this academic year 2025-2026, 20% of the class X22 Ingénieur Polytechnicien program studied abroad for their fourth year, and 45% of the class BX26 of the Bachelor of Science program completed an exchange semester abroad during their third year. École Polytechnique’s International Affairs Office supports all students in their applications for international mobility.
