VivaTech 2025: École Polytechnique's entrepreneurial ecosystem in the spotlight

VivaTech 2025 showcased the dynamism of École Polytechnique's innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.
Eight start-ups supported by X-Up, École Polytechnique incubator, were present at VivaTech 2025, alongside 16 other start-ups from the other incubators of the Écoles de l'Institut Polytechnique de Paris, of which X is a founding member.
Five École Polytechnique start-ups were shortlisted for the Tech for Change Prize, which recognizes start-ups that contribute to meeting major contemporary environmental and societal challenges: Archismart Solar, Sensebiotek, Advanced Care Technologies, Inn'Pulse and Tinental, the latter being one of the 12 finalists and taking part in the “Energy & Climate Tech” Tech Trail.
Tech Trails, themed trails accessible via the official VivaTech app (App Store and Google Play), guided visitors to startups and key sessions in 10 major areas of innovation.
Six start-ups co-founded by École Polytechnique's alumni - Mistral, Pennylane, Photoroom, Upway, Orus, Surfe - are members of VivaTech's Top 100 most promising start-ups.
For its ninth edition, the VivaTech trade show, co-organized by Publicis and the Les Echos-Le Parisien media group, stepped up its internationalization with 50 foreign pavilions, 10 more than the previous edition, including a U.S. pavilion for the first time since its creation in 2016. Canada was in the spotlight, and China quadrupled its presence.
The main theme of VivaTech 2025 edition was “new frontiers”, broken down into four areas: tech, business, geopolitics and responsibility. As in 2014, artificial intelligence was omnipresent, with Chian DeepSeek , US OpenAI and French Mistral, co-founded by Arthur Mensch and Guillaume Lample, two X2011s, represented.
