Eric Sieberath has been appointed Principal Private Secretary to Laura Chaubard, Director General and Acting President of École polytechnique, effective as of April 22th, 2024. He will support the Director General in her duties and will attend the Institution's Executive Committee.

Regional government officer hors classe and a graduate of Sorbonne University in philosophy, Sciences-Po Paris and ESSEC Business School, Eric Sieberath specialises in the sectors of public-private territorial innovation ecosystems, digital transition, higher education and research, and mobility, and has a very good knowledge of the Plateau de Saclay and its institutional environment.

After a first experience from 1999 to 2000 as Deputy Head of the Cooperation and Cultural Action Department of the French Embassy to the United Arab Emirates, he held the position of Principal Private Secretary to the Mayor of Gif-sur-Yvette from 2001 to 2014. In 2014, he joined the Communauté d'agglomération du Plateau de Saclay as Deputy Private Secretary, which became the Communauté d'agglomération Paris-Saclay in 2016. In 2020, he joined the Cabinet of the President of the Essonne Departmental Council as Deputy Cabinet Director, where he was able to forge new links between the Department and Paris-Saclay, contribute to internal transformation issues and steer various operational and strategic projects in conjunction with the executive.
