Silk Roads association visiting l’X
Fifteen Chinese students, members of the bicultural association Silk Roads that brings together students from the best French Grandes Écoles and the most prestigious universities in China, visited l’X on January, 18.
Silk Roads association aims at creating and developing a strong Franco-Chinese network composed of students from French Grandes Écoles and Chinese best universities. The association also offers activities which increase students’ awareness of cultural integration issues.
Two exchange sessions of two weeks are organised every year with the purpose of building a strong relationship between French and Chinese cultures and facilitate student’s mobility. Cross-cultural lectures and debates in the universities are held in order to engage discussions on French-Chinese issues. Companies like EDF group and AREVA, among others, support Silk Roads’ projects.
Fifteen Chinese students visited l’X on the 18th of January 2016, the day of their arrival to France. After having discovered the campus of l’X and its sports facilities, they did a guided tour of the historical part of École Polytechnique’s library. Gaëlle Le Goff, International Development Manager, introduced then École Polytechnique and its wide range of double-degree programs and talked about French educational model. Familiar with l’X thanks to international rankings, the invited students showed themselves strongly interested in Masters and PhD programs offered at École Polytechnique.
Silk Roads association is represented in France by students from École Polytechnique, MINES ParisTech, HEC, Sciences Po and Arts et Métiers ParisTech. Students from Peking University, Tsinghua University, Fudan University, Tongji University, Nanjing University, Southeast University and Nanjing Agricultural University welcome the French members every October in China.
