IP Paris rises 5 places in QS 2026 ranking to 41st worldwide

The Institut Polytechnique de Paris, of which École Polytechnique is a founding member, is ranked 41st worldwide and 2nd in France in the QS 2026 ranking of world universities. The QS ranking covers 1,500 universities in 106 higher education systems.

Institut Polytechnique de Paris, of which École Polytechnique is a founding member, has moved up five places in the QS 2026 ranking of world universities to 41st position. It ranks 2nd in France, behind Université Paris Sciences & Lettres (PSL).

QS combines five main categories of criteria, each weighted differently, to produce its rankings: quality and results of research (50%), reputation with employers and employability of students (20%), student academic staffing ratio (10%), international openness (15, sustainability (5%).

Released on June 19, 2025, the QS 2026 World University Rankings cover 1,500 universities in 106 higher education systems.

IPP stands out, ranking 14th worldwide for employer reputation and 25th for employment results. École polytechnique ranks first in terms of employability. 

in terms of student employability in the various national rankings of engineering schools. It was ranked 26th in the Times Higher Education world ranking of 250 universities for the employability of their graduates.

As a founding member of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris, École Polytechnique plays an active role in the success of its two major ambitions: to develop cutting-edge research and to enhance the international influence of its member Schools.
