As part of their advanced studies, third-year Cycle Ingénieur Polytechnicien students can opt for experimental mechanics courses. Nine sessions allow them to develop a scientific project at the cutting edge of theory and practice. Twenty projects are currently underway, several of which focus on environmental issues.
Highly selective and internationalized, École Polytechnique's Bachelor of Science program is a springboard to prestigious master's and doctoral programs for the vast majority of its graduates. Three years after graduation, 54% are still pursuing university studies, but just over a third have started a professional career in business, half of them in France and the other half internationally.
Nearly three-quarters of graduates from École Polytechnique's Master of Science and Technology (MSc&T) programs are recruited by companies within three months of completing their studies. All of them are satisfied or very satisfied with their first job experience. While two-thirds of MSc&T graduates are international students, 80% of graduates in employment begin their careers in France.

As part of the Alliance program with Columbia University, Solène Léger and Lucie Chicaud - students in the Ingénieur Polytechnicien program – completed a five-month research internship at Columbia University’s Irving Medical Center. They worked in the Pediatric Heart Valve laboratory, dedicated to developing innovative treatments for congenital heart diseases requiring artificial valve implants.

From 27 to 31 October, the Equal Opportunities Unit organised a 'CPGE Boost' course for 30 scholarship students in their first year of scientific preparatory classes, hailing from all corners of France. This edition took place on the École Polytechnique campus for the first time, enabling these young people to envisage themselves in excellence-driven scientific training programmes and to benefit from the ecosystem of a leading engineering school.
École Polytechnique is ranked 26th worldwide and 3rd in France in the 2026 Times Higher Education (THE) Emerging Global Employability University ranking. The school has thus confirmed its position from the previous year.
On October 14, 2025, École Polytechnique hosted the University Fair, bringing together six Grand Corps of the French State, fifteen international universities, and twelve French higher education institutions. Organised by the International Affairs Office, the Direction of the Ingénieur Polytechnicien Program, and the Direction of the Bachelor's Program, this event allowed École Polytechnique’s students to explore the opportunities offered by the participating institutions in order to inform their further career choices.
