École Polytechnique and the Columbia University Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science are joining forces to offer a joint Bachelor's and Master's degree in Engineering. This dual degree program, to be launched next year, will accept its first cohort of students in autumn 2024.
École Polytechnique signs a new mobility agreement with the prestigious University of Chicago, enabling undergraduate students of both institutions to enroll in an exchange semester at the respective partner university.
The third edition of the scientific lectures series brought together Kostas (Konstantinos) Danas, research director at CNRS and professor at École Polytechnique, and Pedro Reis, professor at École Polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), on September 22nd, 2022, to discuss the latest studies on magnetorheological elastomers (MREs) conducted at l’X and EPFL, both partner universities in the EuroTech Alliance.
Enrolled in École Polytechnique's Bachelor of Science program, Catalina Negoita has been awarded a scholarship of excellence by the Korean government, supporting her as she will spend an exchange semester at the Pohang University of Technology in South Korea (Postech).
During its first period of activity, the "Data Science & Industrial Processes" Chair notably allowed for the creation of a training course in data science for students at EMINES, Morocco. The positive outcome led to its renewal for five years in the summer of 2022.
During a three-month visit, two Sudanese researchers, Fatema Mohamed and Maram Ali Ahmed, joined École Polytechnique’s Irradiated Solids Laboratory and strengthened their collaboration with the laboratory’s Theoretical Spectroscopy group on research projects focusing on the simulation of materials’ electronic properties. Moreover, Fatema will join the EuroTech Postdoc2 program in 2023 to pursue her postdoctoral studies in co-supervision at l’X and EPFL.
As they participate in the Optics in the City of Light research experience program, four students from the University of Michigan join École Polytechnique’s laboratories for a two-month internship. Organized with several partners of the University Paris-Saclay, the program focuses on laser research.
International, Institution, Sustainable Development
The strategic alliance of six prestigious science and technology universities in Europe combines the members’ expertise in research and education to contribute to building a strong, sustainable, sovereign, and resilient Europe. Éric Labaye takes over the direction of the EuroTech Alliance for the period 2022-2023.
As a founding member of the international Alliance U7+, École Polytechnique organized the final of the alliance’s Student Challenge on June 13-14, 2022. The competition focused on Addressing Sustainable Development Goals through Technology and Pluridisciplinarity.
Developed within the EuroTeQ Engineering University project, an innovative learning format enters École Polytechnique’s course catalog and brings students, faculty, and industry partners together around concrete environmental challenges.
Two students (X2021) completed the civil training part of the Ingénieur Polytechnicien program in Yamoussoukro, at the high school Mamie Adjoua, and at Institut National Polytechnique Félix Houphouët-Boigny. To both, the training represented an opportunity to engage as citizens and to discover the teaching profession.
