Stéphane (X93) and Agnès Ifker have renewed their commitment to Polytechnique through an exceptional donation to support research on the energy transition. In this way, they are helping to position the Energy4 Climate interdisciplinary center as a world reference. This donation underlines the decisive role of the Polytechnique community for the future of l’X and its strong involvement in solving major new societal challenges.
During a three-month visit, two Sudanese researchers, Fatema Mohamed and Maram Ali Ahmed, joined École Polytechnique’s Irradiated Solids Laboratory and strengthened their collaboration with the laboratory’s Theoretical Spectroscopy group on research projects focusing on the simulation of materials’ electronic properties. Moreover, Fatema will join the EuroTech Postdoc2 program in 2023 to pursue her postdoctoral studies in co-supervision at l’X and EPFL.
The publication of the results of the entrance exam to Ecole Polytechnique on August 2, 1972 marked the arrival of the first seven women in the Ingénieur Polytechnicien program. Ecole Polytechnique celebrates the fiftieth anniversary of its feminization throughout this year and is stepping up its efforts to promote women’s position.

On April 11, 2022, the French Ministry of the Armed Forces and L'X signed a new Contract of Objectives and Performance (COP) that sets the institution's 2022-2026 strategic objectives. L’X will devote the coming period to enhance the impact of its research, stengthen its multi-course training offer and launch the renovation of its buildings.
Fifty years after the opening of the Ingénieur polytechnicien program to women, the École Polytechnique inaugurated an exhibition dedicated to the feminization of the school and the inspiring careers of its alumnae, in the presence of many of the women honored on this very special occasion.
Students from École Polytechnique, the Institut Polytechnique de Paris, as well as from the ESPCI-PSL and the EPITA, put forward proposals as part of the consultations organized by the French government for upcoming French 2030 Recovery Plan, which President Emmanuel Macron set out on October 12.
