Joris van der Hoeven awarded for his work on the complexity of multiplication
The N.G. de Bruijn Medal 2022 has been awarded to Joris van der Hoeven, researcher at the Computer Science Laboratory. The prize was awarded during the Netherlands Mathematical Congress for his research on the complexity of multiplication with David Harvey from the University of New South Wales.

Civil training in Ivory Coast for two Ingénieur Polytechnicien students
Two students (X2021) completed the civil training part of the Ingénieur Polytechnicien program in Yamoussoukro, at the high school Mamie Adjoua, and at Institut National Polytechnique Félix Houphouët-Boigny. Targeting unusual DNA structures against parasitic diseases
In a research paper published in Nucleic Acids Research, an international collaboration involving the Optics and Biosciences Laboratory shows the presence of nucleic acid knots called G-quadruplexes in helminth parasites. The researchers also identify molecules that can bind to these structures.
