The 2022 Nobel Prize in Physics rewards the experiments with entangled particles conducted by Alain Aspect, John Clauser and Anton Zeilinger, which paved the way for the "second quantum revolution". Let's take a look back at this story, which arose from questions about the nature of quantum physics.
The third edition of the scientific lectures series brought together Kostas (Konstantinos) Danas, research director at CNRS and professor at École Polytechnique, and Pedro Reis, professor at École Polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), on September 22nd, 2022, to discuss the latest studies on magnetorheological elastomers (MREs) conducted at l’X and EPFL, both partner universities in the EuroTech Alliance.
Antoine Georges, physicist at the Centre for Theoretical Physics and Professor at the Collège de France, has been awarded the Feenberg Memorial Medal along with Gabriel Kotliar and Dieter Vollhardt for his theoretical work on quantum systems consisting of a large number of interacting particles.

Stéphane (X93) and Agnès Ifker have renewed their commitment to Polytechnique through an exceptional donation to support research on the energy transition. In this way, they are helping to position the Energy4 Climate interdisciplinary center as a world reference. This donation underlines the decisive role of the Polytechnique community for the future of l’X and its strong involvement in solving major new societal challenges.
To create a strong European company in the field of oceantech and AI. This is the ambition of the team behind the start-up Amphitrite. We had the pleasure to interview the Co-founder and CEO of Amphitrite: Alexandre Stegner. Continue reading to know everything about the project !
Nearly 160 students in the Masters of Science and Technology (MSc&T) program began their studies at École Polytechnique on September 8th and 9th. They took part in a mandatory training course on environmental issues. This training is part of l’X's commitment to the energy and ecological transition.
During its first period of activity, the "Data Science & Industrial Processes" Chair notably allowed for the creation of a training course in data science for students at EMINES, Morocco. The positive outcome led to its renewal for five years in the summer of 2022.
During a three-month visit, two Sudanese researchers, Fatema Mohamed and Maram Ali Ahmed, joined École Polytechnique’s Irradiated Solids Laboratory and strengthened their collaboration with the laboratory’s Theoretical Spectroscopy group on research projects focusing on the simulation of materials’ electronic properties. Moreover, Fatema will join the EuroTech Postdoc2 program in 2023 to pursue her postdoctoral studies in co-supervision at l’X and EPFL.
This certificate, set up as part of l’X's commitment to sustainable development, provides in-depth training on sustainability issues for engineering students and Master of Science & Technology students on a voluntary basis.
As they participate in the Optics in the City of Light research experience program, four students from the University of Michigan join École Polytechnique’s laboratories for a two-month internship. Organized with several partners of the University Paris-Saclay, the program focuses on laser research.
The Ecole Polytechnique's traditional participation in the Bastille Day military parade, on July 14th, was marked by a stronger presence of female Polytechnic students to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the opening of the Ingénieur Polytchnicien exam to women.
A revolution is taking place in the integrated optics sector, a market that will experience strong growth in the coming years. The start-up InSpek is contributing to it. We had the chance to interview the CEO and co-founder of InSpek: Jérome Michon, a young PhD turned entrepreneur.
