Paris-Saclay Spring 2025: L'X as a showcase and key player in the Plateau de Saclay innovation ecosystem

École Polytechnique has confirmed its leading position in the development of the research and entrepreneurship ecosystem of the Plateau de Saclay, one of the world's major innovation and entrepreneurship hubs, by hosting the 8th edition of Paris-Saclay Spring 2025.
“This cluster brings together 25% of France's research capacity, and has become a thriving community home to 60,000 students from all over the world,” said Laura Chaubard, President and CEO of École Polytechnique, at the opening of the Plateau de Saclay's annual entrepreneurship and research event.
“École Polytechnique has always played a special role in the development of this cluster, and will continue to do so alongside its partners at the Institut Polytechnique de Paris, Université Paris-Saclay and HEC, in a genuine and sincere team effort to promote the excellence of French teaching and research on the world stage”, added Laura Chaubard.
“At a time when science is facing many global challenges, it is crucial to maintain its essential role as a driver of progress and collective emancipation,” she emphasized.
With a new tagline “Leading the Change, Driving the Business”, Paris-Saclay Spring 2025 was the occasion for numerous business meetings and offered themed conferences, led by over 80 experts, on the themes of Artificial Intelligence, Health, Energy and Quantum.
Since the 2021 edition of this event, each year the Saclay plateau has honored 50 of its most promising start-ups in strategic fields such as digital, healthcare, greentech and the food of tomorrow.
Plastana Medical, one of the eight X start-ups honored, won the Spring 50 competition. Founded in 2022 by Yves Matton (BX 2006, MIT Master's in Mechanical Engineering) and co-founded by Antoine Rousseau, a researcher at École Polytechnique's Plasma Physics Laboratory (LPP), Plasana Medical is developing a portable medical device using a cold plasma jet to effectively treat chronic wounds. This innovative technology, the result of research supported by École Polytechnique and its partners, has been recognized for its transformative potential in the healthcare field.
Held in the wake of the Choose France summit launched in 2018 by President Emmanuel Macron, which welcomes the heads of major foreign companies to convince them to invest in France, Paris-Saclay Spring was an opportunity to celebrate the success of the Plateau de Saclay, a major ecosystem in the European research and innovation landscape.
