A new mandatory course on AI for the Cycle Ingénieur Polytechnicien Program students
École Polytechnique is expanding its artificial intelligence curriculum with a new mandatory AI course for all second-year students in the Cycle Ingénieur Polytechnicien program. Set to launch in September 2026, this new course aims to ensure that every future graduate of the Cycle Ingénieur Polytechnicien program possesses the essential skills to understand, apply, and critically evaluate a technology that is already redefining the boundaries of knowledge.

L’X cohosts the summit of U7+, an official engagement group of the G7 2026
Organized in France in alignment with the G7 summit 2026, the presidential summit U7+ 2026 was co-hosted by École Polytechnique, Sciences Po, and University Paris-Cité on April 14-15, 2026, and brought together 37 university presidents from around the world. A delegation led by Laura Chaubard, President of École Polytechnique, was invited to meet President Macron at the Élysée, where they presented their recommendations for the G7 leaders.

First observation of unusual DNA structures in archaea

Visit of a ministerial delegation from the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire
On December 1, 2025, École Polytechnique welcomed a ministerial delegation from the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire for discussions focusing on strengthening academic and scientific collaborations between École Polytechnique and the Félix Houphouët-Boigny National Polytechnic Institute. During their visit, the Ivorian representatives also met with several Ivorian students who are currently studying at École Polytechnique.

Brevo, founded in 2007 by Armand Thiberge (X2002) and now part of the exclusive club of French unicorns, those start-ups valued at over €1 billion. Pennylane, co-founded in 2020 by five alumni of the École Polytechnique and already a unicorn, will end 2025 by becoming a centaur, exceeding €100 million in revenue.

Cybersecurity & Defense Day at École Polytechnique
École Polytechnique hosted the Cybersecurity & Defense Day, which brought together major players in cybersecurity and defense from academia, institutions, and industry. The event was organized by the Institut Polytechnique de Paris, of which École Polytechnique is a founding member, in partnership with the Interdisciplinary Center for Defense and Security Studies (CIEDS) and the IHEDN Chair in Cybersecurity and Digital Sovereignty, which is affiliated with the Institut des Hautes Études de Défense Nationale through its endowment fund.
