Six Deeptech projects led by École Polytechnique researchers have been selected as winners of the 2024 call for premature projects issued by IP Paris, of which École Polytechnique is a founding member.
An international scientific conference will be held on February 6 and 7 at École Polytechnique, focusing on the impact of the development of artificial intelligence on science and society. This event will take place ahead of the Summit for Action on AI, organized by the French authorities at the Grand Palais in Paris on February 10 and 11.
École Polytechnique has been awarded the Sustainable Development and Social Responsibility (Label Développement Durable et Responsabilité Sociétale - DD&RS) by the Collective for the Integration of Social Responsibility in Higher Education (Collectif pour l'Intégration de la Responsabilité Sociétale et du Développement Durable dans l'Enseignement Supérieur - CIRCES). Leading École Polytechnique's student delegation to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), Patricia Crifo, professor at l'X, participated as a speaker in the official COP29 side event "Enhancing and Enabling Climate Solutions with Higher Education" on 18 November. In addition to Patricia Crifo, also Juan Diego Avila Hurtado, a student in École Polytechnique's Master's program in Economics for Smart Cities and Climate Policy, contributed as a panelist to the conference, which aimed to highlight the transformative impact of higher education institutions in addressing climate change.
Xavier Niel, telecommunications and digital entrepreneur, press owner, co-founder of the Station F incubator and several digital training schools, held a round-table discussion with students from École Polytechnique, focusing on entrepreneurship. He emphasized the contribution of École Polytechnique and its graduates to France's performance in digital technology and artificial intelligence.
École Polytechnique strengthens its ties with Bocconi, the world-renowned Italian university specialized in economics, management, finance, law, political science, data and computer science. A Memorandum of Understanding, signed on November 13th will facilitate specific joint projects such as academic student exchanges and the development of double degree programs at master level, combining the strengths of the two institutions.
Discovered in the late 1970s, archaea are unicellular organisms with characteristics of both bacteria and more complex organisms. Once cast aside, advances in molecular biology and genomics have brought them back into the spotlight. In the laboratories of École Polytechnique, several research teams are exploring the scientific potential of these microorganisms.

École Polytechnique’s Foundation (FX) is launching its third fund-raising campaign with a strong commitment to “Serving Science”. It aims to raise 200 million euros over the next 5 years from private individuals and companies, and has announced that it has already raised over 40% of this target.
