The École polytechnique Japanese Photo Exhibit

The photo exhibit "Polytechnicians' Views of Japan" Vol. 2 will be held from June 21st to August 31st, 2014, at the Verny Commemorative Museum in Yokosuka (Japan).

Over fifty photos of scenes from Japan taken by contemporary Polytechnicians will be displayed next to the massive steam hammers (3 tons and 0.5 tons) which have been preserved in the Verny Commemorative Museum. These steam hammers were selected at the end of the 19th century by Léonce Verny, a Polytechnician from the Class of X1856, to be purchased in preparation for the construction of the first Japanese Naval Arsenal, which he supervised.
