L’X, 1st French institution of the CWUR 2015 ranking
The latest ranking of the 1000 world's best universities of the Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) is out: like in 2014, École Polytechnique is ranked at the 36th place worldwide, but it is the first French institution this year.
The latest edition of the Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) was published. Every year, the CWUR publishes a global ranking of the best 1000 universities worldwide.
École Polytechnique maintains its position at the 36th place, like in the 2014 ranking. L’X is ranked 6th of European institutions behind University of Cambridge, University of Oxford, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, University College London and Imperial College London.
École Polytechnique is ranked 1st of French institutions, gaining one position in comparison with the 2014 ranking where it arrived just behind École normale supérieure - Paris. Overall, 49 French institutions arrive in the top 1000 of the best universities worldwide according to the Center for World University Rankings. Harvard and Stanford universities, the MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), Cambridge, Oxford, Columbia, Berkeley, UChicago and Cornell arrive in 2015 CWUR ranking's top 10.
Created in 2012, the CWUR uses eight indicators to rank the world's top 1000 universities: quality of education, alumni employment, quality of faculty, publications, influence, citations, broad impact and patents.
