Four gold medals and one silver medal for École Polytechnique at the 2026 IMC
Four Cycle Ingénieur polytechnicien students participated in the 2026 International Mathematics Competition, held in Bulgaria from July 27 to August 2. They once again distinguished themselves with their excellent results, winning four First Prizes, including a Grand First Prize awarded to Georges Tézé, who ranked 5th overall. A fifth Cycle Ingénieur polytechnicien student, Aymane Bouhsain, also won a silver medal.

Second edition of the Polymath Summer School at École Polytechnique
The Polymath Summer School held its second edition at École Polytechnique from June 15 to 26, organized by Guillaume Dubach, a Monge Professor at École Polytechnique and a member of the Laurent Schwartz Center for Mathematics. The program included master classes, group discussions, and math games designed to introduce students to research.

Mathematician Martin Leguil Honored with the Lounsbery 250 Years Award
X2009 and Professor Monge at the Laurent Schwartz Mathematics Center (CMLS*), Martin Leguil and his colleague Davi Obata received the Lounsbery 250 Years Award. This award was established to celebrate Franco-American ties in science.

MATH+ Berlin and l’X: A Strengthened Franco-German Scientific Collaboration
École Polytechnique and the Berlin Mathematics Research Center MATH+, which brings together several prestigious Berlin universities, are strengthening their ties and expanding their scientific collaboration. The partners signed a Memorandum of Understanding on March 24, 2026, during the visit of a delegation from the Chair of MATH+ to l’X.

Three Bachelor's students honored with the 2025 Maryam Mirzakhani Junior Prize
Clémence Moullet, Ioana Popescu, and Anca Sfia, three students enrolled in the Bachelor of Science program at École Polytechnique, were honored with the 2025 Maryam Mirzakhani Junior Prize from the Jacques Hadamard Mathematics Foundation. This prize recognizes outstanding initial research work in mathematics.

Polymath Summer Camp 2025: Two weeks of introduction to research in mathematics for Bachelor's students
About 15 Bachelor's students got together under the guidance of Guillaume Dubach, Monge professor at École Polytechnique and member of the Laurent Schwartz Mathematics Center (CMLS), for two weeks of intro to math research in a summery, relaxed setting. This initiative was supported by École Polytechnique's “Pedagogy Dynamics” fund, financed by École Polytechnique Foundation.

École polytechnique hosts the international final of the 38th Mathematical and Logical Games Championship
Organized by the French Mathematical Games Federation on August 25 and 26 at l'X, the event brought together over 500 competitors from 15 different countries. In hosting the event, l'X illustrates two of the principles that animated its founding fathers 230 years ago: recruiting the best scientific talent from all horizons, and delivering scientific and technical training of excellence based on solid mathematical foundations.

Aspects of Gravity, Mathematics and Physics
On March 21 and 22, the conference "Aspects of Gravity, Mathematics and Physics" took place. It was organised by the Laurent Schwartz Mathematics Center and the Center for Theoretical Physics for scientists to discuss issues related to gravitation as well as the theory of general relativity and its extensions.
