Armistice Day: Polytechnicians rekindle the flame
On November 8, students of École Polytechnique rekindled the flame on the tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the Arc de Triomphe. On November 11, they also participated in the commemorations alongside the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron.
On November 8, 2019, students from the class X 2018 participated in a ceremony to rekindle the flame on the tomb of the Unknown Soldier, under the Arc de Triomphe, during the commemorations of the Armistice of 11 November 1918. This ceremony was conducted by the presidents of the alumni associations of the four major french military schools, École Polytechnique, Saint Cyr, École Navale and École de l'Air.
On November 11, the students were also present among the troops alongside the french President of the Republic and Chief of the Armed Forces, Emmanuel Macron, during the wreath-laying and rekindling of the Flame of Remembrance ceremonies.
