Double Degree Program Agreement signed between l'X and Tomsk State University
École Polytechnique, represented by Frank Pacard, Vice-President for Academic Affairs and Research and Rachel Maguer, Vice President for Marketing and International Relations, and Tomsk State University, represented by its Rector Eduard Galazhinsky, signed an agreement for a double degree program on June, 5th, in Tomsk, Russia.
This double degree agreement will allow students from Tomsk State University to enter École Polytechnique and to join Ingénieur Polytechnicien program, Ingénieur Polytechnicien students will equally be able to enter this Russian institution. The double degree program will last three years including two semesters at the respective home institutions. Thus, the selected students will get both a diploma from Tomsk State University in Russia and from École Polytechnique in France. This agreement will also encourage students to go to the partner institution to do their research internship and their year abroad.
Additionally, faculty exchange shall play a major role in the interaction between the two institutes.
Tomsk State University is the oldest university in the Russian Asia, in Siberia, that was founded in 1878 in Tomsk. Tomsk is the first university city of Siberia for the number of students in relation to the population. The large number of academic institutions has made from Tomsk a major center for the Russian information technology sector. With more than half a million inhabitants and a regional population of nearly one million people, Tomsk remains a leading center in Siberia for administration, education, industry and energy.
