L’X launched a Chair in “Data Science and Industrial Processes” in Morocco

École Polytechnique, Mohammed VI Polytechnic University and the Foundation of École Polytechnique launched a Chair in “Data Science and Industrial Processes” in Morocco.

École Polytechnique and the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University have decided, with the support of the Moroccan Group OCP and the Foundation of École Polytechnique, to create an international Chair on the theme "Data Science and Industrial Processes". Through the teaching activities of the Chair, the partners wish to jointly prepare students to become industry innovators and to develop the industrial processes of tomorrow through data science.

This Chair, led by Éric Moulines, Professor of statistics at École Polytechnique and member of the Paris Academy of Sciences, enables the development of two parallel programs co-constructed and co-moderated by École Polytechnique and UM6P. The first one is a new eight-week intensive course focused on concrete applications. It is integrated into the training curriculum of EMINES, one of the UM6P institutions, in the form of a "data science" option. The training is intended for final year engineering students being also accessible to a wider audience, including young engineers.

The second academic program will be set up for future UM6P professors in order to reinforce the faculty expertise in the "data science & industrial processes" option, with the development of real-world applications serving the program.
