L'X opens its doors to the public for European Heritage Days
On Saturday, September 21st, École Polytechnique will open its doors to visitors for the European Heritage Days. A perfect opportunity for people to discover the permanent and temporary exhibitions at the school’s museum, Mus’X.
On September 21st and 22nd, thousands of events will take place throughout France as part of the 36th edition of European Heritage Days. On Saturday, September 21st, the school will invite visitors to discover its collections, heritage from 225 years of history, and scientific discoveries through permanent and temporary exhibitions in its museum, Mus’X. Registration required.
Guided tours of the permanent exhibition will be offered from 10am to 2pm. Visitors will discover the school’s scientific collections.
Also included in the program, 1-hour guided tours of the temporary exhibition "L'X: Squaring the circle of meritocracy (1794-1830)”. The tours will offer visitors an understanding of the origins of the French meritocratic and republican system with the teaching methods of a grande école. Major scientific figures including Pierre-Simon Laplace, Joseph-Louis Lagrange, Joseph Fourier, Gaspard Monge and Sophie Germain are also a central part of this exhibition, as well as many original pieces.
Finally, from 3pm to 5pm, visitors will be able to visit the school’s museum, Mus’X.
